Privacy Policy

Racoon is designed to stay quiet: no account for the core app, no ads, no selling your data.

Last updated: 3 November 2026

Short version

Racoon works mostly on your device. We don’t ask you to create a Racoon account. Purchases go through Apple. Optional features may use Camera, Photos, Face ID, Screen Time, and notifications — only when you use those features. Messages, Mail, and Phone can use Apple’s system contact picker without full Contacts access.

Information the app uses

1. Information stored on your device

Racoon stores preferences and content locally (and in an App Group shared with Racoon widgets), for example:

This data stays under your control on your iPhone unless you back up or sync the device with Apple services you already use.

2. Permissions (only when you use the feature)

PermissionWhy
CameraTake photos in Racoon Camera; scan QR codes for login codes
Photo Library (add)Save photos you take, or develop a film roll into Photos
Face ID / device authOptionally protect login codes
Screen Time / Family ControlsBlock apps or categories you choose (Racoon Pro)
NotificationsOptional alert when a temporary allow window ends

Contacts: Racoon uses Apple’s system contact picker so you can choose a phone number or email for Messages, Mail, or the dialer. Racoon does not request full Contacts access or read your address book in the background.

iOS will ask before Camera, Photos, Face ID, Screen Time, or Notifications access. You can change those permissions in Settings → Racoon.

3. Screen Time / app blocking

If you enable blocking (Racoon Pro), Racoon uses Apple’s Screen Time / Family Controls APIs to shield apps you select. That selection and shield state are managed on-device through Apple’s system. We do not receive a list of your apps on our servers — Racoon has no Racoon backend for this.

4. Purchases and subscriptions

Racoon Pro is sold as an auto-renewable subscription through Apple In-App Purchase. Payment is processed by Apple. We do not receive your full payment card details. Apple may provide purchase status / receipts needed to unlock Pro (via StoreKit on device). Manage or cancel in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions.

5. Widgets

Home Screen / Lock Screen widgets read limited shared data (for example put-away count, lock state, Pro status) via the App Group on your device. Widgets do not send that data to us.

6. Diagnostics

We do not currently operate a separate analytics or advertising SDK in Racoon. If Apple provides crash or performance reports when you opt in system-wide, those are governed by Apple’s privacy terms.

What we don’t do

Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Data may be processed by Apple as part of running iOS, App Store, In-App Purchase, iCloud (if you use it), and Screen Time. We don’t upload your scratchpad, login secrets, or contacts to a Quantic Technologies server because Racoon does not operate one for those features.

Children’s privacy

Racoon is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided data through the app, contact us and we will help you remove what we can control (primarily by guiding device-side deletion).

Retention and deletion

Because most data lives on your device, deleting the app removes Racoon’s local data (subject to your device backups). To remove Photos you saved, delete them in the Photos app. To stop subscriptions, cancel in Apple ID subscriptions. To clear Screen Time shields managed by Racoon, turn off blocking in Racoon or remove the app and review Screen Time settings.

International users

Racoon is distributed via the App Store. Processing related to purchases and OS services follows Apple’s practices and your region’s App Store rules.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
